Hello Players, Parents, Coaches and Referees:
As you ask yourself, “why am I getting a letter from my soccer club during the winter holiday,” let me say it’s long overdue and communication is critical in servicing our local community.
My name is Jerrod Slaughter and I’m writing this message to introduce myself as the newly elected President of Oregon City Soccer Club (OCSC). I want to provide an update from our club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), take a last look at the 2009 soccer season and a look towards the future. I hope this quick update is helpful to our club members.
My soccer background includes being a long time player - first division amateur men’s league, coach, many years serving as a board member including President of the Greater Portland Soccer District. I first became involved in OCSC as a parent and fan, watching my son Nicholas play U6 co-ed recreational soccer. Since that time, I became more involved in coaching youth soccer within OCSC as well as coaching the Oregon City HS JV2 boys team for the last three years. Last year I was nominated and accepted the position as OCSC’s Head Coach. Now as President and Head Coach, my focus is serving the youth players both Recreational and Classic in our community.
